"Hi I'm Mario Amaya and on behalf of Expert Village in this segment I'm going to tell you about using the right hand thumb in the rest stroke. The rest stroking involves plucking the string by sliding on the flesh of the right hand thumb and then plucking with the nail and finally resting on the next string down like this. That is what makes a rest stroke and it is a very powerful technique. And it is one of the most commonly used techniques in flamenco guitar playing.
