on 8/2/2008 I used to like singing, you know just for fun, at home or along with song on the radio at work
And i was aible to sing with confidence and really loud, iwas even aible to be louder then the machines at work sometimes.
But now, i lost my confindece bcose for the first time in 31! years (i've been singing along since i was 6 years old) Someone said to me "Your singing really false"
Now i don't know iff he is right, or just said it to stop me singing at that moment
But to be honest with you, i don't even sing at home anymore
My confidence is gone, eben when i'm alone I'm just to scared
Waht can i do?

"Hey! I am Mark Black and welcome to expertvillage.com. We are going to be talking about vocal performance. Now what we are going to do is go as far as we can on what I call singing 101 and 201, which is basically if you took voice lessons for two years with me or a good teacher what would they be telling you, what would they be working on, and first are the things that we just said, then they are not in the order that may not come up for a long time. One of the most important things is fear, is for you not to be afraid. The voice is the most psychologically intense instrument and I do not know why, I have some ideas. But if a guitar player makes a mistake, he looks at his hands, if a trumpet player makes a mistake, he pulls his trumpet out and looks at it like you bad trumpet, you know, but the vocalist when he makes a mistake, or she makes a mistake, they feel bad about themselves. And therefore there is a lot of people who sing poorly just because they are hanging back, afraid that they will make a mistake, and when they do make a mistake, they back off, and you have got to try to get out there and sing loud and sing aggressively, not that loud as the best, but basically we want you to sing on purpose. We want you to be heard, and you got to hear yourself even if we are only correcting problems, the rule in music is if you are going to make a mistake, make a big one, make a big mistake, and go for it. And don’t be afraid and especially like I said if you can get a good teacher, who believes in you, he is working with you or friend, you know choir director, whatever, somebody who is in the battle with you and what I am telling you to do though is don’t be afraid, get out there, and go for it, and what I want to mention is that your personality may not be as such a person to be so aggressive, but if you have seen, introduced and talked with the various people who are great performers, you will find the bunch of them saying stuff like I, you know, throw up every time before I play, you know I was so nervous I was almost going to die, but you have watched them and he was awesome. Basically the lots of people who sing and perform very well learn to adopt to stage persona, that is to be like somebody else to pretend that they are aggressive or to pretend they someone else, and all I am telling you is that you don’t have to become someone you are not to sing well, but you have to perform, you have to go for it.
