" Hi! Malik the Magic Guy for expertvillage.com. I’m going to show you another cool force. Now this is called the 10-20 force. So what you want to do is have the person you’re doing the trick for name any number between 10 and 20. So let’s say they say 15—it can be any number between 10 and 20. So we’re going to count off 15 cards: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15. And then what we’re going to do is add the digits together: 1 and 5 makes 6, so we go 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. And the next card, the 6th card, is our force card, the jack of spades. Now the way we do that is we put the jack of spades ninth. Now I’m actually going to take one out of the black deck here so it’s a little easier to follow. We’re going to put this in a position 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8… we’re going to put this 9th down in the deck so you can see how this works. So if they say 15, we deal 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15. Now anytime you add two digits together between 10 and 20, it’s always going to lead you to the 9th card. So if we add the 1 and the 5 we get 6—that’s 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. The next card is going to be our force card. So even if they had said—like this would be 13: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13. And if we add the 1 and the 3 we get 4, 1, 2, 3, 4. There’s our force card again, the jack of spades. So that’s an example of the 10-20 force, another cool force you can use."
