" Hi! Malik the Magic Guy for expertvillage.com. Now the first force I’m going to show you is called the cross cut force. Now let’s have Mr. Hand, and I’ll show you how this works. Now the cross cut force is to force the top card of the deck, and I’m going to show you what happens. Now Mr. Hand what I want you to do is just cut off about half the cards and put them right there…great, now I don’t want to touch them, so pick this half up and turn it cross wise and put it on that half, so make like an X out of the cards. Now Mr. Hand cut in any random spot that he wanted in the deck, but we’ll do is we’ll lift up this half of the deck, and I’m going to have you look at this card right there Mr. Hand, and show that to everybody, and because that’s a forced card I know that that is the 8 of clubs. So what’s going to happen is this, this is how you do the cross cut force. The 8 of clubs starts on top of the deck, and this really works on kind of an optical illusion and the fact that they forget one important piece of information. Now when Mr. Hand cuts this here, he’s actually cutting the top of the deck right here. Now when I have him put this on top, you can say that’s to mark the spot. Now this is actually not the spot where he cut, this is actually the spot where he cut, but the halves are changing orientation. Now you talk for a second. Mr. Hand could of cut where ever he wanted; there’s no way I could know. And then when you take this off, you ask him to take that card, and he’s taking the original top card of the deck, and that’s the card you know of the 8 of clubs."
