"Another key component of press kits is including a demo CD of the artist. Your group should compile a demo CD, and this can be done professionally or unprofessionally. In most cases, press kits include unprofessional demos. A lot of these are done at home in home recording studios. An example of a demo is as follows. It comes in a nice case and has artwork from the album. Artwork is a key component of a press kit and is very important for help promoting the band, and creating an image and style that the band wants to portray. This also helps to find the style of music, which will be listened to on the demo. Artwork is often done by professionals or friends. It's really important to have nice artwork for your music. Another example of a demo is this ("South Mountain Pass"). This comes in a floppy case and has all of the information right on the CD. They have small artwork at the top, which represents their band."
