"Hi, this is Larissa on behalf of Expert Village continuing a series on singing. We're going to give you some tips, today, on great vocal warm-ups. A lot of times, if you've ever been in choir, you've had the director do some warm-ups, maybe some scales with the whole group. But you may not have the luxury of piano so it's important to know a few basic "quickies" as I like to call it, these can be done without a piano and you can even do some of them in a little corner, tucked away. This one's called a yawn. Everybody knows how to yawn, so it's kind of an exaggerated yawn, once again you may look a little silly, but I guarantee you this is going to help warm you up so just open up and do a really big yawn as loud as you can. Ah. Don't scream, don't yell, just let it out. Ah. And if you do it properly, you can stretch the back of the throat as wide as you can. Again, naturally you probably wouldn't yawn that way but this is a great way to open your vocal cords. Another "quickie" I'm going to give you, I call it the softball. So all you do, is kind of rev your arm up E, ah! It's like you're tossing softball. So just kind of rev up, E, ah! Another great way you can get your body involved, you're also just vocalizing. Once again, don't scream don't yell, give it a lot of volume, really go for it, but don't hurt your vocal cords. All right, hopefully you'll have some fun and we'll see you next time."
