"In order to register you copyrighted work you have to send payment. Payment is thirty dollars per each song or work that you are Copyrighting. This must be accompanied in your work when you send it. If you have previously registered work in the Copyright office before, you can use an account that they have setup with you. This is useful for people who have many compositions. This is where you would include your name, and you account number on the form. If you haven't had previously registered you can send a check or money order, they should be send certified mail so that there is an official record of the date it was sent. This ensures the proof of your Copyright. Certification is the next step in the form. Certification says application, cannot be accepted without it. This is the handwritten signature of the author or the claiming who is the owner of the exclusive rights. It's important to have a handwritten signature to ensure authority. "
