"Now I'm going to explain placement. Placement is very, very important in ballet. It's also going to be referred to as centering. It's going to help you balance and help you support your feet once you're up on point, and it's going to make all of the steps easier for you to do. Now, what I want you to do is I want you to stand in first position. What I want you to do is make sure your bottom is tucked under. Make sure your thighs are pushing outward, almost like you're drawing a circle from the inside of your thigh, you want to think about pulling it all the way around. Then you're going to want to make sure when your bottom is down that your stomach is pulled in. And you want to feel as if there is a line, almost like zipping up a sweater, from the bottom right around a little bit below your belly button all the way up your torso. You're going to feel like that's being pulled all the way up your torso. You'll feel your muscles tighten a little bit in here, that's what you want to make sure you're doing. Now this proper placement, and from here all of your steps will grow."
