Video Transcript

"In this clip, now, we're going to take you into a closed dance position. Gentlemen, you?re going to take the lady's right hand in your left and put your right hand around on her shoulder blade. Lady, you're going to sit your left arm on his, the man's shoulder. And this is going to be a traditional dance hold and this is how you are going to take the dance throughout. Now, again you have your hold. Now, ladies, it's going to be a little different for you because now you are going to be stepping back on your right foot and the gentleman is going to be stepping forward on the left foot. The way the dance is done, the gentleman always dances in a forward direction and the lady always goes backwards. And, again, we are in closed dance position which is a traditional way to dance the Polka. Although there are many variations, this is basically the way your going to start it and use your Polka step. Your going to hold firm, and get ready for a good time in Polka dancing."
