You could contact me at michiganhighlanddance.com and in this clip I will be demonstrating the second step of the sword: pointing. The second step of the sword that I will demonstrate is called the pointing step. You will first begin this step by executing two pa de ba two close pa de bas. First dancing to the corners bringing on to the right foot. Dancing pa de ba one and spring on to the left foot and executing pa de ba with the right foot. Pa de ba two. You will then spring on to the right foot and point into second with the left foot. You will then hop placing the left foot into third position. You will then hop again placing the left foot into forth position and you will hop one more time placing the left foot back into third position. You will then repeat this on opposite foot springing onto the left foot. The next movement you will spring onto the right foot pointing the left foot into second position, placing the arms in first position. You will then hop making a quarter of a turn and placing the left foot in third position. You will then spring on to the left foot pointing the right foot in second position and then you will hop again on the left foot taking the right foot into third position. You will then repeat this step three more times after each quarter making a another turn. So the second quarter would be executed as follows. Pa de ba one, pa de ba two. The third part would be executed as follows. Pa de ba one, pa de ba two. The last quarter as follows. The last count of the forth quarter of the second step you will clap signifying the change in music.
