"Hi. I'm Vickie Pavone on behalf of Expert Village. In this series we'll be talking about the basics of cross stitching. In this segment we'll tell you about the different types of patterns you can choose. You start at the beginners level which is how to learn to which comes with instructions, your thread, your hoop, your needle and your fabric. It gives very big pictures so that you can learn how to do it easily. Then you can go to your books which have from your basic style which is just a straight line to your filled in type style and this can be letters, borders, flowers, anything. You also have other books, have different styles of stitches in them. Each pattern would have a different style of stitch and you would choose the pattern you like. You have a little more complicated patterns which come in individuals which is going to show you everything you need but it is going to be on just the grid. All the way up to "Art Work By Famous Artists". This is a "Kincaid", this is a "Van Gogh". You can go anywhere from simple to complicated however you feel proficient to doing and those are the different styles of patterns."
