" Hi! My name is Peggy Robertson and on behalf of Expert Village.com, in this clip I want to talk about shapes; specifically the cone shape. Now basically a cone is a rounded 3D triangle. Let me show you what I mean. A triangle is a flat bottom and two sides that comes up and meets at the top and that is your basic triangle. To make that into a cone you have to round the bottom just by going in a lip circle like this or elongated circle that gives you the impression of 3D. You do the same at the top and then it is totally round. With a cone you can make a lot of things. We can take this cone right now and we can make it into a funnel by giving it a little neck on it and there is a funnel. We can take a cone draw a quick cone off to the side, put a little doodad up at the top and we have a party hat. Cones can be icicles hanging down off the house. They can be trumpets; you can draw a quick trumpet with the cone for the top and then add a little bit for the hand and there is an impression of the trumpet. We can also take cones and make animal shapes out of them; I will show you. First we will start with a circle. We draw a little circle for the head, then we will add a cone for the nose and the mouth, we will add a bigger cone for the neck and then we will add a little cone for the ears and there you have a basic dog. Cones are incorporated into a lot of different objects."
