Warming Up for Calligraphy Writing

In this clip I'll be showing you how to warm up and prepare yourself for doing calligraphy. In this particular case, the italic cursive hand. To prepare your hand for writing calligraphy, it's always a good idea to do some warm-up exercises, so I usually do is I find my 45 degree angle, and I come down, and I do some lines. Just to practice getting that angle nice and straight, and good straight lines. So, if I'm at 45 degrees, I will see this triangle. So, I just practice that, practice it, going in this direction. And then I'll practice going all the way down the page. And you see, I get better at it, as I go along, because my arm gets looser and more relaxed. And then I practice the "C" or the "O". So, those are in two parts. You'll notice that this letter form appears in many of the letters. So you really want to practice that.
