"A wide angle lens is a different of lens that really opens up the perspective. This can be very good for really tight spaces. But it can also be really good for like a large landscape or a large building where you want to show a greater scene than a typical lens can capture. A wide angle lens runs anywhere from eight to eighteen millimeters. Again, the widest my camera goes is eighteen. Widest this lens is currently attached to this camera goes is eighteen. But when I shoot indoors, I like to get down closer to twelve millimeters. You'll notice here in this photograph, the only way I was able to capture the scope of this room was to have a wider angle lens. That way you're able to see not only the floor and all the components of the kitchen, but you can also see how high the ceilings are and things of that nature. So a wide angle lens is a great lens to have in your arsenal whether you're shooting a stadium and you want to show all the seats in the stadium. Or you're shooting one room in a house, and you want to show how big this room actually is. So I encourage you to do your research on wide angle lens. Some of you have probably heard of a fish eye lens. And that's a lens that gets closer to eight millimeters. And that's so wide it almost, it actually warps the image. But it creates a neat effect. You'll see this in a lot of extreme sport videos like skateboarding and surfing because it allows the, it allow the photographer to show the subject up close and really make them feel like they're right, right in the front of the camera. So wide angle lenses, they're great to have. I encourage you to make them a part of your arsenal. If you could find a lens that ranges from wide to normal, you're going to have, you're going to kill two birds with one stone as they say. But, it really opens things up when you're looking at wide angle lens. So if you're doing any interior photography or any broad landscapes, I encourage you to see how wide angle lens might change your shooting."
