"Now, as part of the maintenance process, soapy water and a gently scrub brush run through the tubing, you must keep your valves well oiled and clean. I will take out the number three valve which slides out, in and out of the channel. Thusly, as you can see, you can take the valve apart all the way to the spring if you wanted. Pop that spring out,, this all unscrews, there is the spring and there is the valve cover. It screws together. Now these things you occasionally you to want to check because its felt and that creates the softness when you are putting the plunger down. And you put this on which screws it on and the cap. Now you want to keep your valves oiled all the time. What I use is some valve oil. Its not any different than other kind of lubricating oils. We put a few drops on the bare parts of the metal. It will run around and this makes sure that you don't have any sticking cause as a valve instrument is played, sticking is the worst."
