Video Transcript

"Hi I'm Eileen O'Brien for Expert Village in Suncoast Dance Academy in this clip we will be demonstrating glissade a sideways movement in our beginner ballet. Demonstrating for me today is Jolene Stevens she's starting in a first position, heels together, toes turned out and she's doing a plié and the right leg extends and she glides. The movement is suppose to mimic that of a person gliding on ice or gliding across the ice, Jolene is doing first position now she will show us the same step in third position. Closing in third position again gliding and gliding and back, beautiful and now she's going to do a glissade combination called glissade sanja. Alternating the changing from front to back and again lots of plié and glide and glide, that was beautiful Jolene and that concludes our glissade."
