We're going to start off with some pretty thick yarn. This is going to be good for beginners to work with, because it's really easy to work with. I'm using my 6 1/2 millimeter crochet hook. The first step in crocheting a beanie is to make a slip knot. I will show you that again. Cross your yarn over, put your index and thumb through the loop, and pull the rest of the yarn through. Once you have that slip knot, put your hook through the loop, and tighten it. I will show you that again. You are going to cross your yawn over, put your index and thumb through the loop, and pull the rest of the yarn through. Put your hook through the loop, and tighten it.
