"On behalf of Expert Village I'm Emily DeCola in Puppet Kitchen in New York City. Today we are going to talk about theatrical masks. So now is when things get really fun. What happens when you put a mask on? Half of the, well some people will say half other people will say only a small part of the mask is in the making. The rest of it is in the performance. So once you are approaching a mask as a performer rather than a designer in the ground up it is a different process, it is a different prospective on the whole process. Take a moment when you first encounter a mask is just look at it. Look at it how big it is, how much it weights, think of the practical consideration of the mask. How does it grow onto your head? In this case the mask has a nicely place elastic. Who is the character? What adjectives? What emotions? What adjectives are revoked when you look at the mask that you can think off. What emotions are evoked in you? "
