"Hi everyone I'm DJ Shy here with Expert Village and I want to talk to you about the importance of your posture and some of the health hazards that are involved with DJ'ing. Now when you?re setting up your equipment. You want to keep your equipment at about waist level. You don't want it too low cause it's going to be a bad strain on your back and you don't want to be too high cause your arms are going to get sore if your going to DJ for over four hours. So you just want your tables to be set at waist level. Another thing is that some DJ's like to crank you their headphone levels, crank up the monitor, speaker levels and it can be very, very, very hazardous to your ears. You want to keep your headphone level to the point where you can hear both but not blasts it be careful of that. And also when your setting up your equipment, make sure that the power is off because there are some situations where people can get electrocuted and you want to be mindful of where you have your surge protector. You don't want to keep it near water cause sometimes it rains and there could be puddles here and there. You want to stay away from anything that's around water and you would want to hook up your equipment with the power off first and when you?re done with the equipment you can. When you?re done setting up, you can turn the power on so you would want to be mindful of that and also at a lot of night clubs there's a lot of drinking going on. So you want to make sure that you have all your drinks away from your equipment. A lot of things can happen with alcohol. People can get drunk and kind of crazy. So they might be accidents where people may spill equipment or spill alcohol on your equipment or things of that nature. So you want to keep all fluids, liquids away from your equipment."
