" What's up? This is DJ Colione on behalf of expertvillage.com and in this clip, I am going to show you how to do a flare. Now flares can get very complicated. There is one click flares, two click flares, there's orbits, there's all the sort of variations of a flare but I am going to teach you the most basic one of where you can build on learning these other ones. So a flare, you have your sounds starting defense. Right? I have all this motion on the record. right. I start right here and all the way over there. All you want to do on a flare is you want to start with the fader open, you want to push it forward, right all the way to the end, in the middle you want to click it off and click it back on so you are just going off/on. So I push forward, I click the flare once and I come to the end. I pull back, I click the flare once and I come to the start. So essentially if you are going back and forth, you want to chop it in the middle. If this is the record is playing and you want to play it, you want to chop it with a fader, bring it back, chop it. So you are playing chop it and bring it back chop it if that makes sense. So I am going to push forward. I am going to click and push forward and click once and pull back and you really want to chop it in the middle. Right? So this is the flare. Right? You are going that's forward and that's backwards. That is the basic sound of a flare. Right you are going. Now flare is essentially a one click flare. You are just clicking once. You can do two click flares which you play it forward and you click twice. Right. You go forward twice and come back twice. It's a two click flare. You can do three click flares and so forth. But we are just going to focus on one click flares. Right? This is your beat. So basic one click flare. All I'm doing is clicking the fader off and when I'm pushing it forward and clicking the fader on when I am pulling it back and that is your one click flare. "
