Series Summary

Drawing is a visual art which makes use of any number of drawing instruments to mark a two-dimensional medium. Common instruments include graphite pencils, pen and ink, inked brushes, wax color pencils, crayons, charcoals, chalk, pastels, markers, stylus, and various metals. A cartoonist, however, is someone that specializes in drawing cartoons. A cartoonist traditionally sketches the picture out roughly in pencil before going over the sketches in black ink. The disposable villain is not only a former rock band in Detroit, but also a favorite stock cartoon character; each cartoonist must master the super villain and the monster in his or her career.

The great thing about drawing cartoon characters is that there's no limit to the style in which you draw them. The artistic freedom is yours to have fun with. In this free video series, our expert will show you how to get started with step-by-step instructions that will teach you how to plan, sketch, and ultimately draw your very own cartoon villains and monsters. "Alright, so in this series, I'm going to teach you how to draw villains and monsters. And what I'm going to do is, I'm going to break it down into a couple categories; cause obviously if you're going to create villain characters from scratch, there are going to be, there's quite a variety of things you can do. You can obviously use your imagination and create any type of character you like. However, for this demonstration, I'm going to give you what I think are the three basic categories of villain characters, starting with our first one, who I'm going to affectionately refer to as man-villain or more like potential comic relief villain. This guy is the type of guy that you're not going to take super seriously because he's not going to come across as being overly frightening on paper. He might be a little bit crazy with a couple of funny one-liners here and there. But, he also screws up quite a bit. For the most part, he's pretty harmless. He's your typical mad-scientist character. The guy who's always blowing crap up in the lab. But, it doesn't mean he can't be diabolical from time to time. He's always looking a little disheveled, never quite has it all together and more often than not has been known to blow things up from time to time. And you can make this guy as eccentric as you want. He's meant to be known as not too much of a serious villain. He?s a villain, but he's comic relief villain. So this will just be an overview of man-villain, who will be our first villain we will feature in this series. And now we'll move on to our next villain."
