"Hello, I'm Corey Turner here on expertvillage.com and today we're talking about low budget movie making. Now the other option to getting your script, which I like because I do consider myself a writer, is to write your own. This is great, first thing first, before you start writing your script think about every location you have access to, every car, every person you know that you possibly want to be in the movie and write your script according to the resources that you have available to you. We're going to talk about budgets in just a moment, but we don't have the big budgets from Hollywood, we don't have 10 million dollars to film a movie, so we have to compensate with what we have available to us. The more locations, the brighter of those locations, the more definition to those locations are going to increase your production value and it's your production value that's going to make your viewer forget they're watching a low budget movie as opposed to a 10 million dollar movie from Hollywood. So we want to over come that as soon as possible and you can do that by writing a script using the talents that you have. Do you have a good friend that's great at special effects? Do you got those good locations? Do you have a friend that knows martial arts? Do you have a friend that's an incredible singer? Find a way to incorporate those into your script. Now, it's hard for me as an artist, I want to say write the type of script you want, but let's think about your audience. If you're writing a script that requires 10 million dollar actor, we're going to have a hard time as a low budget movie maker, getting our audience to buy into what we're doing. So don't be afraid to experiment a little bit, do things that Hollywood can't do. This is an open playing field, you don't have to follow the set formulas that the studios and distributors have. Be creative, take some chances, develop your characters and have a very strong story."
