"Okay, so let's review all the natural notes that we now know in our first position on the bass. We start with open E, add E, F, and G. Then we go to A string, A, B, C on the D string we add D, E, and F. On the G string we have G, A and B. So E, F, G, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, A, B and in between the F sharps and flats. Okay, now make sure when you're playing these notes, the first time you play through it, you can use your first finger. But keep remembering we really, our goal is to alternate our two fingers. One, two, three, one, two, one, two, one, two, so. We play E with our first finger F, G, E, F, G, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, A, B, as much as you can. So then B, A, G, F, E, D, C, B, A, G, F, E. So make sure that you're alternating the fingers even when you're switching the strings."
