Another variation you can do while you're doing Merengue steps without a partner on your own. It's a single, single, double. I just call it that because that's basically what your feet are doing. Out of your Merengue step, this is what it looks like. You go single, single, double, single, single, double, Merengue, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. We kind of go out of the Merengue rhythm for a second and we come right back to the rhythm. Breaking it down. Out of your basic, you're going to step right. There's your single. Step left single, double. It's like a little cha cha or shuffle step and then double. Again, step right together, left together, right together, right, left together, left. Notice the rhythm changes a little bit. When you do the double, you have to do it a little bit faster. Single, single, double, single, single, double. You come right back on with the Merengue step. Again, slow. Here's the basic. You go step right, slide, left slide, double to the right, step left slide, right slide, double to the left, back into the Merengue step.
