The Pelvic Hip Tuck and Drop is a real nice way to accent a specific movement and a specific sound in your music. Let's start with the feet slightly apart, the knees are going to stay soft, pull your bellybutton in, lift your chest and relax your shoulders. So we're going to allow the pelvic motion to go forward and back, and it's all going to be right here in your hip. The abdomen is going to stay engaged the whole time, even when you're letting it come forward, doing the drop part of it. Don't let your stomach just relax and go blah, you don't want to do that. You want to be nice and neat and tucked, be sure to keep the chest lifted so that you don't end up getting this movement here. Keep those shoulders still because what you're not moving is what makes the dance look so good, not what you're moving. So, we're going to just keep doing it, repeating it, drilling it, getting it so it's nice and precise. And this movement can either be soft or it can be a sharp movement and sometimes the accent will be on the down, on the drop, and sometimes on the tuck. So you want to make sure those knees stay nice and still so that all the movement is right here in your hip. Keep that chest lifted, keep your arms out to the sides so you can see what your body's doing. Drill this in the mirror as often as you can so, you'll know what it looks like when you're out on the dance floor.
