Video Transcript

"So the next step in Irish dancing is the sevens. It's also known as the sidestep. It involves moving across the stage and back, and then to the left side of the stage, back to center again. It comes directly after the threes. So let's try it. The first move, you can call one or you can call up. So it involves lifting your right leg to your left knee and hopping off the back foot. Hop. That's the first move. So it's one. Two, stretch your right foot out. Three, behind. Four, out. Five, six, seven. And that's the sevens. The next part is back two threes. Hop, back two three. Left foot hop, back, two three. Similar to the front threes, only you're hopping backwards. The next part is hopping back two three four five six seven, to the center position. So, take your right foot, hop behind, hop back two three four five six seven. Finally, hop back with the left foot. Two three, and the right foot, hop back two three. Now I'm going to do it all in one go. I'll take it slow. One, two three four five six seven. Hop back two three hop back two three, hop back two three four five six seven. Hop back two three, hop back two three. I hope you've got it, because now we've got to do it from the left foot."
