"In this segment, I'm going to talk about how to improvise on the "black keys". The black keys are basically the easiest way you can improvise on the piano. The reason it's easy is that you can never make a mistake. Anything I play on the black keys is going to sound beautiful (playing). The reason for that is that the black keys are what is called a "pentatonic scale". You might have noticed it sounded a little bit like Chinese music. All Chinese music a pentatonic scale. It's only five notes - it's a five note scale. This is a five note scale repeated. Five notes, five notes, five notes... And in every combination it sounds great. So if you want to trick your friends and impress them, get on the piano and just play the black keys (playing)."
