Summary: Learn how to make a wish on a turkey wishbone, a Thanksgiving tradition, in this free video with Thanksgiving activities for kids and parents.
"Hello, I'm Matt Cail and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to tell you all about Thanksgiving games and activities. The last game you can play on Thanksgiving can't be done until you're finished up with all of your meal and the turkey has largely been devoured. So it's not going to look like this anymore. It's going to, will have been plucked and cooked and prepped and stuffed and largely eaten, because the game we're talking about right now, or an activity more or less, is the wishbone. What the wishbone is, it's certainly a bone inside the turkey which you get out and basically it's shaped like a Y, it's kind of like a central stem which then branches out on the sides. And the way the game is played is you'll have two people who will take hold of each side and they'll pull it apart and eventually it will snap. When it snaps, one of the people will have the main stem on their part of the wishbone. The other person will not, they'll have the shorter bone only left, like more of a stub. Now the way the game goes is that whoever has the bigger stem makes a wish and their wish will come true with the wishbone. Whoever, you know, doesn't get the big stem, nothing bad happens to them, they just don't get their wish. So this is a fun game activity, it dates all the way back to the Romans and some harvest festivals they had and it's normally celebrated nowadays in America on Thanksgiving."
