Summary: Find out why you should bring the lights to the top of a Christmas tree in this free holiday video.
"Hello, my name is Matt Cail. On behalf of Expert Village I'm going to show you today how to hang Christmas tree lights. A lot of folks make a common era once they start to get to the top of the tree. That is that they think well it's the top of the tree, it's the most noticeable and I just want to sting lights everywhere. That is a big mistake, you don't want to clump lights anywhere really on your tree. Let alone on the top of your tree and there is a couple of reasons. First off it doesn't really look particularly good, it will start looking like the top of your tree is on fire. There is only one thing that you want to actually have your top looking like on fire and that is if you have star, an angel or some type of top piece. I even seen a florescent hat used now a days is one of the latest Christmas toppers. So you want to make sure that the lights are not basically choking out or straining that. You don't want tons of lights up here, you want the emphasis to be on the top of your Christmas tree like the main central Christmas tree top ornament, not on your lights. So make sure that, I usually do is a way a lot of trees break down they have one central that would be taller here at the top, no lights on that branch. But they will like a couple little like ones spiring like blooming out from right beneath that. That is about tall as your lights should go so like on this tree for example see there is still of a little bit on top, I would not go any higher than these branches right here for our Christmas lights, no higher than that. Then we'll start, basically you want to do more lights recall you plug it into the strand A then you start heading back down doing the actually what we just did in reverse."
