"Now here comes the un part, we are going to make the fortune cookies themselves, but first pre heat your oven to 300 degrees. Then we are going to take a table spoon to scoop out some of this batter, and it is very thin but that?s the proper consistency for it. Now we can just pour it onto the paper, it doesn't have to be an exact measurement of a tablespoon. Swirl it around on the parchment paper until it is very thin because that is going to be important later for the consistency of the cookies, so that they will brown properly and bend properly when we put the fortunes on them. Now you will notice I am only making two because I only like to make a few at a time because as you will see later, timing is critical for the cookies. You don't want to burn the ones that are already in the oven and you have to handle them with your gloves later and timing is critical. So just swirl them around and make them very thin, now they are ready to be put in the oven."
