"Hello! I'm Jennifer Cail and on behalf of Expert Village, today I am going to show you how to make Cranberry Sauce. Before we get started, we might wonder if there is something else we can use to sweeten my Cranberry Sauce. Cranberries are very very tart fruit. You will need some type of sweetener in there. I understand that some people might have dietary concerns or be a diabetic and want to use something else other than pure sugar. So you have a couple of different alternatives. Of course, the easiest is sugar. You might want to try Splenda as a sugar substitute which can be cooked. If you are not diabetic and you want something other than just plain sugar for other reasons, you can also try using Maple Syrup. This will be a more natural alternative. If you use pure Maple Syrup, then it is not digested as quickly as pure white sugar is. If you just don't want to use white sugar for different reasons and you still want super sweetness, you can use corn syrup in a bottle. The other alternative could be honey and you could play around with different types of sweeteners depending on what type of flavor you are going after. "
