How to Install a CV Nut on a Car

"In this clip we're going to talk about the proper way to reinstall our Ball Joint Retaining bolts and our Constant Velocity Nut. What we're going to do. This bolt slides through a hole in the back of the spindle. You'll be able to see it poke through right here when I get it properly aligned. You may need to tap it in with a hammer or various other devices. Ok, pretty much what I did was slid my bolt through the hole and now I'm going to reinstall the mounting nut with a 17 millimeter wrench. As you can see my nut is threaded right on there pretty good. It's a good idea to put these in extremely tight. Alright and there you go. That's the proper way to install your vehicles Ball Joint Nut. Run down my CV. Ok, I'm going to push my Constant Velocity Joint through and run this down as far as I can with my hands. Alright. Ok, once you have that done, there may be a cotter pin or there may be a pound style nut. As you can see there's a groove right here. I'm going to take my screw driver and hammer a portion of this nut down into that groove. That keeps the nut from spinning loose as you drive the vehicle. Alright. That is the proper way to install your Ball Joint retaining bolt and your CV Nut."
