"Hi, I'm Aaron Gregory on behalf of Expert Village. And, we're going to talk about what happens when your car battery dies, how to select a new battery, and how to see what the problem is. Now, it's time to reconnect the terminals and see if the car has any power. I'm going to start with the positive, in reverse order that we disconnected. The positive is indicated by an "x" or a plus sign. You don't want to over tighten battery terminals because the lead is soft and it will easily break. You just want to tighten it until you can't rotate it anymore. Tight enough not to loosen, not to twist. Now, it's reconnected. We can turn the key again and see what happens. We've cleaned all the battery terminals. And, we've examined the battery for corrosion. Now, we're going to turn the key again and see if this car will start. Nothing with the key. Let's try the headlights. Nothing at all. Okay, well, turning the headlights and the key back off, we can use an electrical tester to test the battery and see if there's any voltage in the battery at all. Maybe it can be saved. "
