"Hi! I am Carl Shepard with expertvillage.com, we are talking about bass techniques today. A very popular technique is a hammer on pull off technique. I am going to go ahead and show you here on the high G string, fifth fret use your index and then we are going to hammer on to the seventh fret with our ring finger, okay, so what we need to do is keep our index in the same spot the whole time while we do this, okay, so pluck the fifth fret, let your other finger hammer on to the seventh fret without using this hand, so when we do it we only pluck it once but we make two notes, so that is a hammer on to pull off, we keep our index finger here in the fifth fret and use our ring finger to pull off from the seventh fret, okay that’s the pull off, we put them both together, hammer on and pull off.
