"Alright, so let me show you some other stuff on the French drop. So far where we are is here where I've grabbed the ball and it's disappeared. I'm going to show you again from this side. When the thumb comes in the fingers cover over here. When the touch on the front here is when you want to drop the ball. The second part to the move is what your left hand does. Now, if you're doing the move and you left hand just kind of stays here. The beginners version of this is you squeeze really hard and you point like this and it vanishes. That's okay, but it's a lot more subtle if you just do the move. You let this hand drop; just for get about it. It's one of those sociological things that helps you be a better musician. You grab the ball. This hand will just drop like it's not important and you focus all your attention on this hand. You open and the ball is gone. One more time. Pay attention to my left hand here. Now, when you're practicing this in a mirror or on video tape, one of things you want to do is take the ball for real a bunch of times and see what your hands look like.
