First off we tuck in the lowest stomach muscle. The hips remain under the upper body very flat. The ballet's dancer's leg in a turned out position will be turned from the top of the hip all the way down the knee through the ankle and into the toes. So the leg will go sideways as opposed to being straight up. The ballet dancer's leg will be turned out also when the legs are together, turned out from the top of the hip through the knee down to the ankle and into the toe as opposed to being straight. Here's the flexibility with turnout in the back and the ballet dancer will do her best to lengthen her back along her thighs. With the legs in a turned out position begin beating from the thigh opening the thigh and beating the legs in a flexed foot.
