Hi I'm Mark Sodja. I'm a repair tech at In this video, I'm going to show you how to repair a saber saw switch. We'll get started by first removing the blade on the saw. Next I'll go ahead and remove the blade guard. Now there's a series of screws on the back of the saw. I'll remove those next. With the fasteners removed now I can go ahead and split the two sides at the housing. And this gives us access to the switch. It's a good idea to make note of the location of the wires before you go ahead and remove the switch. Now the wires on the other side. Now I can go ahead and install the new switch. I just installed the wires in the same location as where I removed them. Now I can go ahead and reinstall the housing. I want to make sure that everything lines up and I don't force this as I reinstall it. And now I'll re-secure with the screws. We'll finish up by reinstalling the blade guard and the blade. And that's all it takes to repair the switch on a saber saw.
