H,i I'm Dan Reinecke with Unknown Media, and today I'm going to share some tips on how to pose your subjects when shooting headshots. This is going to vary depending on who you talk to but when I shoot headshots I always prefer my subjects to stand rather then sit. I feel like this gives much more naturalistic feel to the photos and it allows the talent to have a lot more control in balancing their weight. You are going to always want to keep a relaxed environment. Telling someone exactly how to pose can make for an uncomfortable looking photo. As a photographer it's going to be much more beneficial to just guide your talent. And let them find their position rather then mold them into one. You are going to want to be aware of your talents features. It is always a good idea to get your male subjects to stick their chin out a bit. It will give them a stronger jawline. For females shooting from a higher position will make for a more flattering photo then if you were to be shooting from below them. With these few tips and a little bit of practice you'll be shooting some fantastic headshots in no time. I'm Dan Reinecke, take your best shot.
