Hi, I'm Dan Reinecke with Unknown Media, and today I'm going to share some tips for shooting photos for a restaurant menu. You are going to want to keep in mind the restaurant that you are shooting for so your photos will correspond with the restaurant's theme. Photos for lets say a steak house should be themed differently then that of a Mexican restaurant. Now lighting is going to be key to taking quality menu photos. Shooting next to an open window will almost always look nice. But just be aware of your white balance. You don't want your photos to have a hue to it that will affect the look of your food. Now keep your background simple so there won't be anything distracting taking away from the product itself. Your presentation is going to be key. Make sure you don't have a sauce or some types of crumbs that will look sloppy. Take some nice closeup shots if the food has an interesting texture. This will also add to the appeal of the dish. From here feel free to play around with arranging garnishes to bring your menu a whole new flair. I'm Dan Reinecke, and those are just a few tips to help you take photos for a restaurant menu. Take your best shot.
