What's going on, guys? My name is Joey Biagas, and I'm an audio engineer and musician for about seven years now and today we're going to talk about piezo versus magnetic pickups in a guitar. Now let's just start with the major difference which is in piezo pickups, there are actually crystals vibrating in the electronics versus a magnet which is just the magnet vibrating in the electronics. Now the piezo is going to sound a little bit more harsher in the mids and highs versus a magnetic. And also another difference with piezo pickups, there's actually less hum because they don't pick up as much versus a magnetic pick up. So those are a couple differences between piezo and magnetic pickups. If you do have any other questions,.please let us know and thank you for watching.
