Some gifts are just tough to wrap. When there’s not enough time to hunt down the perfect box, knowing a few handy tricks can make those awkward packages as pretty as the rest. For soft gifts, likes clothing and linens, roll them up in a piece of poster board and tape securely. Next, wrap the roll in paper, tape, and twist the ends and finally, to dress up the gift tie ribbon to each end to dress up the gift. Viola! Another trick from for soft gifts is to use of cardboard as a base. Wrap tissue paper around it, twist at the top and tie off with ribbon. Also, fabric works well for oddly shaped gifts. For very large items, like giant stuffed animals, a paper tablecloth in a bright color or with a fun design works well. Just be sure to use a cardboard cutout as the base to keep the present sturdy. Layout your paper table cloth or fabric flat and place the present in the middle. Lift up the corners and use a colorful ribbon to tie it off at the top. A nice bottle of wine, champagne, or scotch often makes a good gift. You can always get a gift bag or you can make one. Snip off the sleeve of an old dress shirt and use a hot glue gun or a needle and thread to seal the edge you cut. Just -drop in the bottle, tie a ribbon around the cuff, and beautiful. Nothing awkward about it.
