Hi, my name is Abbeth. I'm an Artist in Portland, Miaine, and I'm going to show you how the use of transparent white and flake white. I have right here some transparent white and over here I have flake white. And I've painted and let dry on my paper a swatch of sienna colored paint. So, if you want to layer white over your painting and be able to see through the white to the color beneath it so that it's almost more of a glaze, that's when you want to use transparent white. If you want to cover up a darker area, make sure you have a clean dry brush for this exercise, you'll see that when you put flake white down over darker area, it covers it up much more and you really won't be able to see through that flake white like you can through the transparent white. My name is Abbeth, and I just showed you the uses of transparent white and flake white.
