Hi, everyone. My name is Gene. I'm an Illustrator and a Graphic Designer. And in this video, we're going to take a look at paper and watercolor splatter crafts. So, let's get started and check out some techniques. Keep in mind that this is a really messy painting technique and it can be a lot of fun. So, I'm just going to come in here and grab some water. I'm going to just do some quick watercolor splattering and I'm going to dump it right into, I'm just going to whatever ones right here in the middle, I'm going to hit the purple and feel free to be as liberally as you want with the amount of water you're using. Okay. So, all you're going to do is you're going to hold your hand out and you're going to hit the paintbrush against your hand. So, I'll do some quick ones right here into the camera so you can see. And as you can see, that gets paint everywhere. I'm going to do that again, we can just color this up a little bit here. I'll jump into the blue, 'cause you know, what's, what's a purely purple splatter painting, boring, that's what. Alright, so that's one technique. And then there's another technique which is going to give you less of the clump and then spread out splatter and more of a tinier splatter texture. And again, I'm just going to jump right into the water here. So, load up the brush with as much water as you want and let's see; now, I'm going to take it into the green. So, I'm just going to go into the green, put this back away. What you want to do now is grab the paintbrush in one hand and you're going to essentially just pull on the bristles and it didn't show us anything. Alright. Let's try this again. This technique also works with a toothbrush. So, if you have a toothbrush, this is what you would use; the same, the same technique. I'm really going to get in there and load this up with color now 'cause that was not nearly enough. So, let's just really get in there and load everything up. You can see how much paint I'm using on the, on the paintbrush. It's just totally covered. Alright. Get in there and flick the bristles. There we go. You can see it's a much finer splatter when you're flicking the bristles. Alright. So, that's two techniques, you can, you can use the stop technique which is where you hit it against your hand or you can use the bristle technique where you totally load up your brush and just flick through the bristles. Well, there you have it; there's your intro to paper and watercolor splatter crafts. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Thanks for watching.
