Hi, my name is Abbeth. I'm an artist out of Portland, Maine and I'm going to show you how to make DIY, do it yourself easy painted art on canvas. And right now I have some canvas textured paper that we're going to use and for this experiment in painting, you're not going to have to ever wait for the paint to dry, it's going to be a very quick and fun painting that we're going to do. So any color that you happen to have sitting around already mixed up, some extra color, just spread some of it out on to your canvas. And play around with having thicker areas of paint, thinner areas of watered down paint, and now I'm going to have you squeeze out another couple colors and I'm going to have them be colors that are close to the first color that you put down. So I have here kind of a salmon orange color. So I'm going to take yellow and red which are neighboring colors to this orange color. And the reason we're going to do that, we're going to make this painting while the paint is still wet and if you use any opposite colors, if you use green in there or anything like that you're going to start to kind of get some muddiness in your paint. But this yellow and red are going to actually be able to blend really nicely with the orange that you already have down. And experiment with different brush sizes to create kind of different effects within the paint. So here I have a smaller flat brush, and I'm also going to try out using a little pointed brush like this for my red. Notice how when the different colors blend together, you get a whole bunch of variation and new colors start to appear. And this is where you can really have fun, be creative, scratch into your paint. Maybe water your paint down and splatter on to the page a bit. And now I'm just going to take one color that's a little bit contrasting with the rest. I'm going to take the green, which I told you nto to use before, but we're going to use it now. Just tale a little bit of that and take a clean brush and just add a few contrasting details to your painting. My name is Abbeth and I just showed you how to make a DIY easy painting.
