Hi, my name is Abbeth, and I’m going to show you how to make silver paint. In order to make silver paint, you’re going to need black paint, white paint, and iridescent paint, which will get your shimmer that you have in silver. And, I already have some kind of extra gray paint on my palette with a bunch of extra black. I’m just going to even that out by adding a bit more white, because in order to make kind of a medium silver, you need a bit more white than black. Now, I’m going to take my palette knife and scrape all of that paint together, mix it around until I get a medium gray. That’s actually a bit too dark, so I’m going to add some more white. Black really just kind of swallows up white, so you’re always going to need more white than black when making gray. And, my iridescent paint already has a bunch of white in it, so I’m going to hope that that evens out the darkness of the gray. So, squeeze out some iridescent paint, a nice big piddle onto your gray, and mix that around with your palette knife, and that’ll really brighten things up. And, you’ll see how the iridescence of the white paint just soaks into the gray until it becomes shiny, like metal. I think I want it to be just a little bit more iridescent. You can even make two shades of silver if you’d like: A lighter silver with more of the iridescent white in it, and then an area of darker silver. And, I’ll show you how that looks when I brush it out onto my paper. Take a fairly clean brush, grab a little bit of that silver. And, here’s my lighter silver, and here’s my darker silver. My name is Abbeth, and I just showed you how to make silver paint.
