Hi, I'm Lesa G. Williams, Owner of Mix in San Diego, California. Today, I'll be teaching you how to build endurance for dance. Now, a lot of times a dance piece can anywhere between three minutes to five minutes plus and we want to make sure that our heart is condition for that cardiovascular exercise in those three to five minutes. Exercises that I like to do with my classes to get the heart rate elevated an conditioned are basic things like jumping jacks. And you can do jumping jacks for a minute and then switch to something like high knees and this is what I like to have my students do. They'll go palms out and they'll try to match their thighs to their palms which really looks kind of basic and easy but gets your heart rate elevated. Do that for a minute following that. Maybe take a lap around your studio or your house, somewhere you can get the jogging end and start to get the heart conditioned as well. Maybe work towards a mile, three miles and see how you do with that short amount of time. Lastly, I suggest something basic like jump rope. Jump ropes are really inexpensive and you can do them for one, two, three minutes at a time. So, you want to make sure that you're trying to get the rope around as many times as you can in that minute to two minutes to three minutes. So again, you have things like jumping jacks, high knees, taking a lap and then jump rope and those are ways to build your endurance during dance. My name is Lesa G. Williams, Owner of Mix in San Diego, California.
