Installing a viola string doesn't have to be the most difficult thing you try to do in a day. Install a viola string with help from a professional singer and violinist in this free video clip.

Hello there, I'm Kendall McGuire, professional violist and today I'll be explaining to you how to install a viola string. Well for visuals let me show you what a strong looks like. This is your viola string. This part down here is where you would hook it on to the bottom part, down by your bridge and then up here, see how it's a little bit curved, you would twist it in to your peg. Let me show you where exactly on your instrument I'm describing here. See these pegs here and you see the strings that are going in there, you just twist, twist, twist to tighten and on the bottom it would be hooked all the way over your bridge down, down, down to here. We have your fine tuners and it would just hook in right here. So all you would do is just loosen the peg to take this string off, put your new string through the little peg hole there and just twist, tighten, tighten, tighten, tighten and of course it's attached on the bottom part and you tighten it all the way up until it's in tune with the pitch of the string and that is how to install a string on a viola.
