Hi, my name is Sami Rudnick and I'm with Rok On Studios and today we're going to be talking about lowering the larynx while singing. The first thing you can do is to practice a relaxation technique. What I like to do is to put my hands on my throat and gently rub while humming, ahh, ahh. What this is doing is helping to relax my throat and lower the larynx before I'm about to sing. Another technique is to practice proper breathing. I put my hands on my diaphragm to make sure that I'm putting all of my energy and all of my air right here. So I inhale and exhale, ahh and finally it's important to have the right posture. By standing up straight we imagine that we have a string right at the top of our head pulling us up and extending our bodies. This is Sami Rudnick and we've practiced lowering the larynx while singing. Thanks for watching.
