Hi, my name is Jessica and I'm an artist, and today we're going to draw a raven. So ravens are often depicted as these very monstrous kind of birds and it's probably because of the Edgar Allen Poe poem "The Raven" but they're actually just these kind of very simple looking black birds and they've got a round bird head and they've got you know, a little bit of a more pronounced beak and they're bird neck comes down into, there's not too much of a neck on a bird it kind of just goes right into their body and then their wings and things come down so the bird has a little bit of a roundness to its front, it comes around and then the wings come up on top and then they come out a little more and they've got this part kind of sticking out here and then they've got another kind of tail part out like so. And then they have these pretty simple feet that just come out, these little raveny feet just like that and kind of a little beady eye, a beady raven eye and then you can go back in and you can put some definition here for the wings and feathers, put a little bit of shading maybe a little white or gray shading around the wing area so that it doesn't just turn into a big kind of black blob but they don't really have any sort of under coloring or anything they're just pretty much black and I think there is even a little bit of a kind of roundness to their eyes like that and that's pretty much it. Maybe you can just put a little bit of a bend to their beak there and you know, the raven just kind of hangs out and does its raveny thing, that's about it. If you wanted to make it a little bit more scary for some reason you could kind of bend it over a little, maybe make its beak a little longer just give it more of a shaggy kind of look, you know, like a Goth bird or something, make it kind of have it, same kind of idea, just maybe make the lines a little bit rougher you know, of course the spin and style you put on it is up to you. That is how you draw a raven.
