Hi, my name is Jessica and I'm an artist, and today we're going to draw a cap, gown and graduation diploma. So, we're going to start with the, let's draw the head first. We've got the head of the person here who is graduating and in our case it's going to be a girl because I like to draw girls. So the top of the hat is shaped like a square like that and then there's sort of a little piece that comes down kind of onto the hat that holds it in place and that is usually black or whatever color, maybe it's your school colors and then there's maybe kind of a ribbon thing that comes down off of the cap like that and we'll put this girl's hair going down her back like that so it doesn't really get in the way of the cap, give her a couple bangs, give her eyes and a smile. She's very happy because she graduated and then her gown, a gown is really simple. It's just basically a black coat that goes over whatever you're wearing. It kind of looks like maybe a church coat or what have you and then the sleeves are pretty wide at the ends because it really just goes right over what you're wearing, just like that, just like that and then your hand holds the diploma. And the diploma is let's see, you've got like your hand kind of, and this is a great trick. If you are ever not sure about how to draw something with your hand you can always use your own hand as a model. So basically the hand would be holding the diploma like this, right, so you would put your fingers going down and around and your thumb and then the diploma would come like that. And some diplomas have a ribbon or something tied around the middle of them and then at the bottom of the gown your legs will stick out. So, there's a person's legs and the diploma just really wraps around the neck, it goes just like that and that's really pretty much all there is to it. That is how you draw a cap, a gown and a graduation diploma.
